The Swiss Emissions Trading Registry will be unavailable on February 17th, 2026 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am (local time).

Closure of the International Transaction Log (ITL) on 31 March 2026

In accordance with the decision of the Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Brazil, the International Transaction Log (ITL) will be permanently discontinued on 31 March 2026.

As a result of this decision, all emission reduction certificates (ERUs and CERs) that are not in the FOEN's voluntary cancellation account on Sunday, 29 March 2026 will be cancelled by the FOEN on Monday, 30 March 2026.

Please note the following deadlines in the Swiss Emissions Trading Registry for your planning:

Last date for transfers: 26 March 2026 – 11:59 a.m.

Last date for voluntary deletions: 29 March 2026 – 11:59 p.m.

Please note: All transactions and deletions must be validated by transaction validators by these dates.

Working days EHR Helpdesk: Monday to Friday, from 9am to 12pm (local time), except official holidays and closures of the registry and/or the helpdesk
Transactions to be executed on an official holiday or on a working day when the EHR Helpdesk is closed for other reasons will be executed on the first working day thereafter.
Registry/helpdesk closures: 2-3 April / 6 April / 14-15 May / 25 May / 24-25 December / 28-31 December 2026 / 1 January 2027

Transfer calendar between the Swiss and EU registers

Transfers are executed daily (Monday to Friday). Exceptions and further information on the transfer calendar can be found in the frequently asked questions.
